Obsessed over breakup songs

February 1, 2012

Every now and then I get completely obsessed with a really great breakup song. I don’t know why, but the good breakup songs just really get to me for some reason (try not to read too far in to it). My last obsession was Script’s Breakeven.

“What am I supposed to say when I’m all choked up that you’re OK?”

Ugh! Such great lyrics. My latest obsession is Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye featuring Kimbra. It illustrates really well how in every breakup both parties feel right and slighted. Usually equally. (Also, I’m just totally obsessed with Kimbra, in general).

I am totally the same way. I love sad songs, I think thats why I am such a huge fan of Ryan Adams, Radiohead and many other sad song artists. Its the emotion they put behind it.
This is a great song. Thanks for sharing it.

Hey thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog! I have to agree with you–I love a good breakup song. Have you heard “Nothing Better” by The Postal Service? It’s so good, and it kind of reminds me of this song with the female singer conversational part.
